INTERPENING, by Max Montrose

[in-ter-pen-ing] verb.

The Art and Science of the Cannabis Sommelier: evaluating flower for total quality control, psychotropic effects, and variety type designation. Interpening is a multilevel mastery certification in evaluating cannabis quality and determining psychotropic effects, regardless of strain names or hybridization. Throughout the world, interpeners work in every level of the cannabis industry, including cultivation, distribution, retail, legal, culinary, and judging cannabis cups. Interpening certifications, books, and tools are backed by the most contemporary science and research on cannabis and are designed to enhance your interpening skills and expertise.

Interpening is the art and science of evaluating cannabis flower to determine quality and psychotropic effects through a sommelier style inspection. No more Indica or Sativa, false strain names or lacking COA data when it comes to quality; Interpening requires a deeper intellectual understanding of cannabis that challenges previous ideas and fully leverages our senses.

Created as a study tool for the master class by the same name.  This book is loaded with stunning photographs and descriptions about what to look for when buying cannabis and cannabis products.

The website offers additional identification tools like magnifier loops and a very creative “wheel” putting it all together in a way that the consumer should even be able to tell what effect any particular cannabis flower might give them if consumed– without needing to know plant strains or rely on a dispensary for advice.

Here is additional online Trichome Institute consumer courses in various cannabis topics.

I do NOT recommend the cannabis cooking course except for pure curiosity and entertainment. Yes, it raises all the right questions which I’m happy to see, but see this article here for why I don’t recommend it.

The rest of the courses are easy to understand, professionally done and give well rounded, vetted information on each topic.

And here is more information from me about how you can simply put some of Max’s information to good use for yourself.
