Quercetin was advocated for use during the Covid crisis by some respected scientists and doctors to help strengthen the immune system.
Quercetin is better consumed by eating it through food sources like oranges or kale.
In fact, even most of the foods listed as high in quercetin are on my do-not-eat foods list for being estrogenic and toxic (not the oranges).
Quercetin is a flavonoid and as a preparation and generally is extremely difficult for the body to utilize.
It appears to unfavorably interact with a number of other medicines.
If taken as a supplement, it should be used only for a very short term, maybe a few weeks at most. There is no studied recommended effective dose.
Users taking it for months at a time have reported severe gastro-intestinal problems and heartburn effects daily. The distress has been severe enough that even once stopping the supplement, eating foods particularly rich in quercetin have caused the same side effects for a few weeks after.
